Technical Leader (I&E)
In this role as a Technical Leader in I & E you will support the Ammonia shift manager and team leader in the safe and efficient running of the Ammonia plant.
You will assist in meeting site and departmental goals and KPI’s including:
•Zero injuries with strong reporting culture
•Compliance with statutory environmental operating limits
•Meet production volume, quality, despatch and cost targets
Please note this role is part of a shift team (12-hour continuous shift pattern) covering I&E duties on a shift and outside operator duties.
You will be accountable for...
•Maintaining all types of Instrument/Electrical Systems used across the AMAC area, maximising flexibility between skills where possible to meet statutory obligations.
•Inspection and record keeping or updating as part of a preventive maintenance programme.
•To participate in training in order to enhance skills to enable the you to meet the company’s competency requirements.
•Initial fault finding and corrective actions on I/E systems on the AMAC plants
•Trip checking and routine checks of safety equipment
•Out of hours I/E support on other plant areas
•Fulfil an outside operator role on the ammonia plant including:
•Assisting with the Start-up and shutdown of plant following the appropriate training.
•Authorising and recording chemical deliveries.
•Routine monitoring (readings) of plant and reporting of faults.
•Preparing equipment for maintenance.
•Signing on maintenance teams. (permit to work)
•Promote Operator Care programme
•Compile Shift Log
•Complete plant weekly routines
•Communicate plant issues to departmental management
•Carry out on the job risk assessments on a continuous basis.
•Providing assistance to local management and maintenance staff in non-routine circumstances (e.g. breakdowns).
•Supporting delivery of departmental / site targets and KPIs.
•The ideal candidate would ideally be an experienced Instrument and Electrical maintenance technician and have worked as a technician on a top tier COMAH site
•Have a sound understanding of safety procedures especially those related to Instrument/Electrical Systems
•Have a sound understanding of Process Plant and Instrument/Electrical Systems
•Have the ability to diagnose Instrumentation, Control and Electrical system problems
•Practical knowledge of computerised operating systems including Delta V (DCS), Oracle and Microsoft Office Suite would be a distinct advantage
•Knowledge of Ammonia Plant activities, policies and procedures
•Good knowledge of site policies and procedures is highly desirable
•Strong work ethic
•A team player who can be counted on to provide support to work colleagues
Applicants will be able to demonstrate a recognised Instrument/Electrical Apprenticeship and ideally be qualified to HNC level or equivalent.
