Plant Accounting Manager

The Plant Accounting Manager manages the accounting activity for production of the Billingham site which includes raw material costing, production costs and capital expenditure.  This role provides financial support, reporting and analytics to the site manager at Billingham and to the US corporate parent of CF Industries for activities on an incurred basis.  This role is responsible for month end activities relating to productions costs and reports into the Operations Finance Manager.

The ideal candidate will have financial experience within FMCG/manufacturing environment, hold an undergraduate degree and professional accounting qualifications. Ideally you will also have a solid understanding of accounting methodology and financial analysis both in the UK and the US GAAP.

In this role you will be accountable for...

 

Month end close activities:

•Preparation of the timely and accurate close activities for production costs including journals, accruals and reconciliations as required
•Own month end process and associated balance sheet activity including inventory for the site
•Provide analysis and commentary to ensure site performance is understood and issues raised with relevant stakeholders to drive corrective actions.
•Preparation of all US corporate parent requirements for month and quarter end closes as it relates to productions costs and capital for the site including the relevant KIT schedules

 

Manufacturing team support:

•Prepare material for the monthly cost review meetings and highlight variances against plan
•Present to local management at the Site as required
•Participate in the drive for consistency of financial processes across UK sites and with the US
•Business partnering to the local site manufacturing team
•Prepare the annual budget and monthly forecasting for the site

 

Internal Controls

•Maintaining a strong SOX control environment working with relevant stakeholders including internal and external audit to identify deficiencies and take corrective actions as necessary implementing improvements in the internal control environment when required

The skills, qualifications and experience you will have...

 

Experience and Knowledge

•5 + years of finance experience within an FMCG/manufacturing environment
•Strong technical orientation with an understanding of accounting methodology and financial analysis, understanding of both UK and US GAAP

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree coupled with a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
