AMAC Shift Supervisor (internal applications only)

The role of a AMAC Shift Supervisor is to manage the operating team to safely and effectively meet the required production outputs and conversion efficiencies. You will also be required to develop their team over the long term for organisational flexibility and compliance to company and legislative EHS, operating and quality standards.

In this role you will be accountable for...

•Prioritise and co-ordinate the shift operations problems and maintenance activities and defects to minimise vulnerability to unplanned downtime and potential safety or environmental incidents.
•Recruit, develop and appraise the team to achieve shift to shift tasks, validation of skills and knowledge and equip them to reach their full potential for succession planning and team safety and quality performance
•Lead the team in monitoring and assessing plant performance to identify deviations and initiate corrective actions to optimise and improve production and energy efficiency.
•Investigate and solve production problems and undertake formal incident, quality or production loss reporting to ensure that the root cause is understood and corrective actions to improve further performance are put in place.
•Evaluate and monitor proposed maintenance activities an job methods to avoid process hazards, maintain standards of work and compliance with operating procedures, permanent instructions and quality systems.
•Contribute to developing and improving human resource policy and solve industrial relations and welfare problems within the team, so that time at work is used effectively
•Ensure robust systems and procedures for record keeping, general administration and customer liaison to comply with company and statutory EHS and quality requirements
•Liaise with customer service unit and directly with customers an hauliers out of hours to ensure the continuity of tanker supplies.
•Actively develop safety and process related projects in order to improve business performance

The skills, qualifications and experience you will have...

•A detailed understanding of the Site Operations and how they interact with one another
•An understanding of Ammonia, Nitric and Chemical operations is advantageous but is not essential
•Excellent communication skills
•The ability to remain calm in pressurised situations
•The ability to work with and manage people. Performance manage the team in relation to career progression and in building and effective team.
•The ability to manage three operational areas on a day-to-day basis
•The ability to set-out and manage short to medium term goals for your shift
